When you feel self-conscious · Amsterdam
Body to body massage in Amsterdam when you feel self-conscious
The message that never gets sent is almost always stopped by the same thought, arriving in slightly different words: not like this, not with this body, maybe when I have sorted myself out. It is worth saying plainly that the sorting out never happens, that the body in question is entirely ordinary, and that nothing in the way an hour is arranged here depends on it.
the long answer
What guests actually say they are worried about
Written down, the list is short and it repeats. Weight, and specifically weight gained recently enough that the guest still thinks of himself as the earlier version. Age, meaning grey hair, loose skin, a chest that is not what it was. Body hair, in whichever direction the worry runs. Skin: acne on the back, eczema, psoriasis, stretch marks, a birthmark. An old surgical line. A body that has been sitting at a desk for fifteen years. None of these is unusual and none of them is new to anyone working with adults. What is genuinely common is the private conviction that one's own case is worse than the others, which is the one thing on the list that is measurably untrue.
Weight, and the only part of it that is practical
Carrying more weight than average changes two real things and nothing else. Some furniture will complain, which is a question about the bed rather than about you, and some positions are less comfortable to hold for long, which is a question about pace. Both get handled in advance. A creaking frame or a soft mattress points the arrangement to the floor, where a firm level surface takes any weight at all without comment. A slower pace and fewer changes of position are simply how the hour is run. Neither of those adjustments is remarkable, neither of them is announced as an accommodation, and neither has anything to do with whether the hour is worth having.
The part about hair, skin and the lights
Oil is the reason body hair comes up at all, and the answer is practical: hair holds oil, so a hairier back or chest takes more of it and holds it longer, which alters the amount used and nothing else. Nobody needs to shave anything for anybody. Skin conditions matter only where a patch is broken, sore or currently flaring, in which case the area is left alone and worked around, the same as any tender spot. As for the lights, one lamp instead of the overhead is the usual arrangement anyway, not as a kindness to the self-conscious but because that is how the room is set for the format. If you want it darker still, say so and it is darker still.
What she is actually paying attention to
Not the things on your list. A therapist who has spent years doing this reads a body for temperature, for where it is holding tension, for whether the breathing has dropped or is still up in the chest, for whether a shoulder is guarding something, and for whether the pressure she is using is landing or being tolerated. That is a working attention and it is fully occupied. Guests tend to imagine an aesthetic assessment running in parallel with the work, and it is not a thing that happens, for the simple reason that there is no spare attention for it. This is not flattery. It is a description of what the job consists of.
The first ten minutes, and why they are slow on purpose
The opening stretch of the visit is deliberately uneventful. She arrives in street clothes, a lamp goes on, the heating goes up, her towels come out of the bag, and there is a short exchange in whichever language is easier for both of you. She says what her session includes and where her own limits sit, in her own words, and that stands for the whole visit. Work starts along the back and the length of the legs, face down, which is the position nearly everyone finds easiest to begin in and which removes the thing most guests are dreading, namely being looked at while lying still. By the time anything changes, the room has stopped feeling like a doorway.
You are allowed to keep control of the undressing
There is no required order and no staged reveal. Some guests undress fully before she arrives and get under a towel. Some keep shorts on for the first stretch and take them off later. Some ask for the light off before anything else happens. Each of those is normal, none of them needs justifying, and any of them can be written into the thread beforehand so it is simply the arrangement rather than a request made out loud. What does not change is her side of it: she decides what her own session includes, she states it at the start, and that holds regardless of how the room has been set up for your comfort.
Choosing a length and a format when you are unsure
Ninety minutes is a kinder first booking than sixty for anyone arriving nervous, because an hour spends its first quarter settling and then feels short. Sensual work and oiled work ask the least of both the room and the guest, and they are the two most cautious first bookings turn into. Full contact oil work is the natural step from there and needs nothing beyond towels and a surface. The gel format and the soapy format both add logistics, which is fine when you are relaxed and unhelpful when you are not. There is no ladder here that anyone is expected to climb, and repeating the same booking three times is a perfectly ordinary pattern.
What to write, and what you owe nobody
One line is enough: I am heavier than the photographs I would have sent five years ago, or I have not done this before and I am nervous about my body, or please keep the lights low. That line arrives in a thread, gets read once, and turns into how the hour is arranged. You do not owe a history, a reason, an apology or a plan to be different later. Name the woman you want from the roster and the reply tells you whether she has room at the hour you asked for. If she does not, you are told that and nothing else is put in her place, because that choice belongs to you.
Figures, deposits and getting the hour moved
Nothing about the price moves with the body that booked it: a longer session is charged pro rata against one flat hourly rate, which a second therapist or a shared partner doubles and two guests with a woman apiece quadruple, while the overnight carries one fixed price of its own. The numbers themselves are printed on the profiles, where they can be read in private before a single word is written to anyone. Nearly every booking is confirmed with half of the applicable figure before she sets out, first bookings included, and only a returning guest's same-day hour or two at a city address is settled entirely on arrival. If you change your mind more than a day ahead, the whole deposit returns. Inside the final day and before she leaves, half of it is kept. Once she is travelling it is kept in full, unless somebody else takes the hour, in which case it comes back whole, or unless the loss to the house was demonstrably smaller. Nothing is ever pursued as damages. One change of date costs nothing if it is asked for more than a day ahead and the new date is inside a fortnight. She is at a central address forty to sixty minutes after the hour is agreed, and Schiphol is arranged separately with the journey time settled first.

Say which door she is coming to
Give the building or the district, the hour you want her there and how long for. Anything about your own body that changes how the room should be set goes in the same message, and it is read as a practical note rather than as an apology.
